Well, I am still at 265 pounds. I am technically in my second week of training, although last week I wasn't able to go the whole week due to over exertion, and a slight wrist injury. Monday and today, however, I was able to make it through every exercise. I have come to realize one thing this week, and that is that I need more protein in my diet.
When starting a workout you need to look at your goals. If you are wanting to increase strength, you will need to increase your protein intake to help promote muscle growth. If you are working on endurance you intake more carbohydrates for the energy needed. Either way, you should see fairly steady gains in strength and endurance for about six weeks, if you maintain a diet focused on your body's needs. I am not taking in enough protein to maximize my muscle gains. I know from previous experience that I am able to increase my leg strength by about ten pounds per two days in the gym. However, today was a little disappointing in how weak I felt doing the same weight as Monday. I know that for the most part my body is getting all the right vitamins and minerals. I eat plenty of carbs and my fat intake is in normal range, so the only thing it could be is protein.
